Four teams have confirmed their spots in the semi-finals of the 2016 Vodafone Fiji Secondary School’s Championship at Fiji Football Academy Ground in Ba.

Baulevu High, Drasa Secondary, Kamil College and Nukuloa College won the quarter-finals yesterday.

Nausori- based Baulevu High beat high flying Nadi Muslim College 4-2 in penalty kicks while Lautoka’s Drasa Secondary won 2-0 against Vashist Muni College of Navua.

Tournament favorites and last year’s runner-up Kamil Muslim College defeated Tavua College 2-1 while Nukuloa College came out victors against Khalsa College 4-2 in penalty kicks.

In the semi-final Baulevu High will face Drasa Secondary while Kamil Muslim will play Nukuloa College at 8am today.

Fiji Secondary Schools Association’s vice -president Elvis Goundar said the semi-finals will be very exciting and competitive.

“The tournament itself has been very competitive and I’m sure the best four teams will come out firing today,”Goundar said.

“Its knockout bout and whichever team puts its tactic right will win, “said the Tailevu/Naiitasiri coach.

The Vunimono High School’s teacher said Kamil Muslim looks favorite but anything could happen as both Ba schools are playing each other in the semi-final.

“It’s going to be a cracker in the semi-final between Nukuloa and Kamil College as both have the crowd support.”

Meanwhile, in the U15 boy’s Ba Sangam will play Nadogo Central in the final at 9.30 am at FFA Academy Ground 2.

In the U17 final Tavua College will take on Natabua College at 12.15pm while in the girls competition Xavier College will play Kamil Muslim in the first semi-final while AD Patel will battle Bua College in the second semi-final at 8am at Xavier College. The final will be played at 1.30 pm.
