Lelean Win U19 Final

Lelean Memorial School Under-19 team dedicated their win to their parents yesterday.

LMS defeated Ratu Kadavulevu School 12-8 at the ANZ Stadium yesterday.

It was an emotional moment for the team who played without the support of the old scholars.

“This win feels so good, sacrifice has truly paid off,” Coach Alipate Savai said.

“We do not have the support of the old scholars, we have been on our own basically and only had the mothers and the officials who have been with us on this journey.

“So I take my hat off to the boys for pulling a win despite the challenges.

“We are fortunate that former national rep  Seremaia Bai gave us these jerseys because his son plays for the U16 grade and he is also an ex-scholar.

“Our jerseys are very old and some don’t even have numbers on them.

“This is a good win for the boys and a good gift for them as they leave school.”

Most of the players in the Under-19 team are playing for the Suva U20, Naitasiri U20, Namosi and Northland U20 teams.
