Difficult time is the best time to thank God for his constant immeasurable love says Reverend Epineri Vakadewavosa.

The Methodist Church of Fiji general secretary made this statement while delivering his sermon to more than thousand church members at Centenary Methodist Church in Fiji yesterday.

His sermon was related to the church’s annual conference theme which was ‘God and Difficult Times’.

“Difficult times are the best time to give thanks to God for his immeasurable love – it brings good feelings in our lives when we do that.

“As we release ourselves into his, we release our pain, our struggles and allow him to not only comfort and nurture us, but take control of our lives.

“We may have come across some moments of difficulties in our life, but one thing for sure we can never deny – it is the immeasurable love of God which transcends all things we have come across,” he said.

Reverend Vakadewavosa said that transforming love had the power to turn our grief into joy, our weakness to strength and gave us the desire and determination to serve him right to the very end of our journey.

He also said difficult times are unavoidable and difficulties were part of human life.

“It is best that we give our whole life to God, so that our lives are always in his hands.

“There are many times we feel that it is not enough to trust, we need to know, in our difficulties we sometimes forget that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

“I ask you all today to give your life totally to God. Difficult times are unavoidable, because difficulties are a part of life, it happens to everybody but everything under God’s control and providence at all circumstances.

“When we surrender our life to him, our weeping is turned to joy.

“That is exactly what He is offering to each of us today and in our conference this week….. it is, “God in Difficult Times”,” Reverend Vakadewavosa said.
