‘The Premier League is behind schedule and we would like to have games played’

The Vodafone Premier League is expected to resume this week following the arrival of Team Fiji football side yesterday after competing in the Olympic Games in Brazil.

Fiji Football vice-president and national league board chairman Yogeshwar Singh confirmed three games will be played this weekend.

“The U23 players have arrived so we will resume the competition,”Singh said.

“Suva, Nadroga, Nadi, Ba and Lautoka are expected to play this week but fixtures will be finalized on Monday.

“The games to be played will also depend on the availability of the ground and the weather.

“The Premier League is behind schedule and we would like to have games played this week.

“INKK Mobile Battle of the Giants starts next week and we would like to have one round played.”

Singh said the league will be interesting with the inclusion of the U23 players.
