We Need To Lift Our Game

The experience of playing in the 2016 Rio Olympics will be used as a bench mark for the Fiji Football Association, says Team Fiji men’s football director Tarunesh Reddy.
Reddy made the comments yesterday when they arrived at Nadi International Airport.
“We will try to use the experiences from Rio Olympic as the way forward and to use it as a positive way for the future of football games in Fiji,” he said.
“We have been facing Oceania level of football, but this is totally a new level and we have learned a lot of new things from there. As you know this is the first Olympic for our men’s football team and it was totally a different level altogether.”
Reddy added that the most contributing factor is that professional countries play different levels of football and Fiji needs to lift their game
“It means a lot to us and at the same time we lost all three matches. So we saw where we were lacking and we’ll definitely work on those areas.
“We will try to improve and come out with better results in years to come.” he said.
TEAM WORK
Team captain Roy Krishna thanked the players for a wonderful performance.
“As for me personally it was not my personal effort, it was the whole team and I am very proud of that,” he said.
“We are on the right track and I wish the boys all the best.
“I’m going back and I’m going to focus on the two years that I’ve left in my playing career,”
