Malolo team manager Tevita Sadrata said they were looking forward to the battle

Last year they took Nadroga to the wire during their first HFC Bank Farebrother Challenge. This time with the experience of playing in the major union for the first time and the fact they were able to hold their ground, the Malolo rugby side are confident of a good outing at Prince Charles Park, Nadi on Saturday.

Malolo team manager Tevita Sadrata said yesterday they are looking forward to the battle.

“We had a good season so far with the ultimate aim to reach the Farebrother Challenge competition,” Sadrata said.

“We are expecting a tough encounter. The players have been training in full force for three weeks now. This will be our second Farebrother challenge and we are all looking forward to it.”

He said during their last challenge many of their players were exposed for the first time and got their first taste of what the Farebrother Challenge is all about.”

During their clash last year, the Stallions ran away with a narrow 13-10 win after trailing for most part of the game.  This year during the Skipper Cup clash Nadroga scored a 32-11 win but were behind 18-11 at half time.

Sadrata said they are going to announce the team today.

Meanwhile, he also confirmed that they are preparing for the funeral of former team mate and hooker Iliaseri Kobanalagi. Koba as he is fondly known to his team mates hail from Jilivalevu village in Nadroga. He died last Thursday after being sick for some time.
