President Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konrote yesterday delivered the message of hard work and perseverance to the young boys of Fiji National Cub Camboree by proudly conveying the success of our 7s rugby team.

During the opening of the ninth Fiji National Cub Camboree at Drasa Education Institute in Lautoka,  the President said: “The members of our 7s rugby team were once young boys like you who aspired and dreamed of being successful in life through their individual and collective hard work, their perseverance and sacrifice.

“Our 7s Rugby Olympic medal have proven to our beloved nation and particularly to you young boys who are members of the club movement that there is no substitute to hard work as the key to success and this is the chance I want to leave with you our cubs and youth of Fiji if you remain focused and persevere in what you want to achieve in life nothing becomes impossible.”

He told the audience they were Fiji’s future and they could continue to demonstrate it to the world that Fiji could be as good as any other country.

After being bestowed as Chief Scout of Fiji recently, yesterday was the first official engagement of the President at such event.

“It is an honor to be part of an organisation that stands for our duty to God duty to our country and our duty to help other people these values are reflected in our promises which we make as young cubs like you different from other young people of your age,” he said.

President Konrote also assured that the World Organisation of Scouts movement was supportive and forthcoming with its encouragement and good wishes.
