HFH Fiji Delivers WASH Services In The North

Habitat for Humanity (HFH) Fiji has reached out to more than 664 families with Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) services in the Northern Division post Tropical Cyclone Winston.

HFH Fiji communications manager Doreen Nayaran said surpassing their target of 500 families for the North was only possible with the dedicated team of staff and volunteers.

“We are overwhelmed by the support, confidence and trust our donors have put in us to effectively deliver WASH services to families affected by TC Winston,” Ms Narayan said.

“HFH Fiji WASH relief efforts have been supported by Fiji Community Development Programme (FCDP), Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Child Fund Australia, HFH Australia, and HFH International.

“Relief efforts involved repair and restoration of water supply systems, maintenance of pumps, dams and catchments as availing emergency sanitation provisions in communities severely affected.

“A number of communities have been identified and our aim is to build 500 new homes,” she said.
