Fifteen Police officers presented their itatau to the Commissioner of Police Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho  yesterday.

Twelve of these officers would be deployed to Dafur and three of them will be conducting duties in Golan.

In accepting their itatau Brigadier-General Qiliho emphasised the importance of their role while on UN duty.

The head of the Fiji Police Force told the officers to keep their priorities right and be mindful of every decision they would make on the mission field.

They were reminded of their reputation by Brigadier-General Qiliho.

If they violated any of the rules and guidelines of the UN mission not only would their reputation be on the line but their families too, he said.

This also included the Fiji Police and even vanua and Fiji’s reputation would be tainted.
