Fifteen Police officers presented their iTatau to the Commissioner of Police Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho yesterday. Twelve of these officers would be deployed to Dafur, Western Sudan, and three of them will be conducting duties in the Golan Heights.

In accepting their iTatau the Commissioner of Police emphasised to the officers the importance of their role while on UN duty.

The head of the Fiji Police Force told the officers to keep their priorities right and be very mindful of every decision they would make on the mission field.

If they violate any of the rules and guidelines of the UN mission, not only would their reputation be on the line but their families’ reputations would be too.

This also included the Fiji Police, even vanua and Fiji’s reputation would be tainted.
