A Labasa student charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs has been released on bail.

The 20-year-old of Urata, Bulileka appeared before Magistrate Cama Tuberi at Labasa Magistrate Court yesterday.

It is alleged that last week Saturday around 12pm a Police search team found four sachets inside a carton believed to be marijuana in his stall at the Labasa market. The case has been adjourned for mention on October 4, 2016.

Meanwhile, Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed that on the same day another Labasa market vendor, a 39-year-old man was found carrying 73 sachets wrapped in aluminium foil inside a brown paper believed to be marijuana.

She said this man had been questioned and released over the weekend.
