The Methodist Church Bose Ko Viti has approved an operational budget of $4.5 million for the next financial year.

Church’s secretary for communication Reverend James Bhagwan said it was with the various departments of the church who needed to find ways to raise additional funds through seeking support from other areas and developing assets.

He said one of their key areas was education.

Reverend Bhagwan said the bulk of money raised from the church’s one week event would go back to the church that included the budget which had been accounted for.

“It is good to see the church understanding what the financial team is trying to do,” he said.

Reverend Bhagwan there was a need to see the restructure of the church.

He said church’s accountant informed them to operate the church well and they would be able to deliver all the programmes that their members wanted.

“We want to deliver in our congregation; it will cost approximately $37 per member, now there is no way we are going to ask our members for that amount of money. So we’ve brought it down to $15 we are not able to what we want to do, so that means we keep that levy as it is so we don’t put any other burden on our members.”
