Operation Rio Gold Road Closures

Operation Rio Gold is now underway and police officers will be out in numbers to beef up security at all venues where the celebrations is expected to take place.
As such roads will be closed prior to the team’s movements to and from celebration venues and an increased number of police officers will be visible as they conduct route lining operations.
We do understand that the urge to interact with the winning 7s team will be great, however it is important to adhere to the security measures that will be implemented by our officers for the safety of all.
We will also be utilizing a drone for maximum coverage and adherence to the no fly zone restriction issued by Airports Fiji Limited must be respected.
While everyone’s focus will be on the celebrations, please be mindful of the securing your property as this will also be an opportunity for criminal elements to strike. We have taken this into consideration and officers will also be tasked with conducting mobile patrols.
At the end of the day we want everyone to celebrate the victory however people should celebrate responsibly.
