YAKUZA Wins Award For Best Custom Paint

Zubed Ali drove to Suva from Nadi specifically to attend the Penrite Car Show organised by the Fiji Car Club the past Saturday.
And it was a ride worth making as he was awarded the Best Custom Paint Award.
Mr Ali has done a thorough job with his vehicle using candy paint which is basically a brightly coloured, typically high gloss paint applied to vehicles.
Getting candy paint right is no easy task as it requires a lot of sanding and is very labour intensive.
It also requires a skilled painter to get a consistent colour, as any variation in the thickness of the candy paint will appear as streaks or dark/light patches in the final finish. Due to this, candy paint is usually very expensive.
And Mr Ali has managed to get all this right in his vehicle – Suzuki Cappuccino which goes by the registration – YAKUZA.
Mr Ali has spent over $15,000 upgrading his vehicle and indeed is very passionate when it comes to cars.
His only comment on the very successful car show was that it should be organised more often.
The Fiji Car Club has already indicated it will have another car show in the West probably towards the end of the year.
Some background
Mr Ali is a Architectural Designer and technician by profession and can not only be described by his line of work but also a person who loves his cars.
Mr Ali is not only the first in his family to own a sports car, but he is also the first to race on the tracks and has been racing since 2000.
His Suzuki Cappuccino is special in a way that it’s the only piece in the South Pacific region and it’s one of the limited 660cc turbo in the country.
