The Minister for Health and Medical Services, Jone Usamate, is calling on medical officers to deliver their best when serving the public.

In an interview during one of his tours to the Savusavu Hospital on Friday, Mr Usamate said when people seek medical services in any of their facilities, the officers were to attend to them with the best of their abilities.

“Members of the public should always watch their health to prevent going to hospitals, but if they do they deserve to expect the very best,” Mr Usamate said.

“All the doctors and nurses are expected to do their best and as the Minister for Health I expect them to do that.

“If they feel that they are not being provided that service, they have the right to contact the ministry or contact me. If they have complaints then we will attend to it.”

Mr Usamate applauded the staff for maintaining the condition of the place.

“One of the reasons that I am here in Savusavu is responding to complaints about the cleanliness of our facilities,” he said.

“I look around and see how well they have addressed the issue and the state of the facility is really good.”

Mr Usamate also praised the Savusavu community and groups who have laid a helping hand in the hospital’s maintenance.

“The recent painting of the hospital was done by some members of the community, this kind assistance is always welcome and we applaud people for coming forward with initiatives as such,” he said.
