Koro mother Eseta Naitini says attending the 7s celebrations in Suva has helped her family recover from Cyclone Winston.

That was why Ms Naitini, 31, travelled  from their village, Namacu, with her three-year-old daughter, Finau Esila, to join thousands celebrating at the ANZ Stadium in Suva yesterday.

They arrived on Saturday and were in time to see the crowning of Miss  Vodafone Hibiscus queen at Laucala Bay, Suva.

Ms Naitini said it was a special mother and daughter moment to be a part of the celebrations.

“I had told my husband if Fiji wins I will go and see the team celebrate their win and here I am with my daughter to enjoy every moment of the win,” Ms Naitini said.

“After Tropical Cyclone Winston hit Fiji and destroyed the belongings of many people, I am sure this celebration will help them and my relatives back in Koro Island to forget the devastation.

“A big vinaka vakalevu to Ben Ryan and the 7s team for their hard work.”
