The Dreketi football team are coming prepared for the first round of the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori.

Captain Sisa Valeusa said their aim is to beat Rewa, Nadi and Suva in their pool games.

“This is the first time our district will participate in the B.O.G and we know there will be lot of eyes on us,” the Tabia native from Macuata said yesterday.

“At the moment our first worry is to finish on top of our pool before we could focus on the semi-final. We have been training under coach Johan Leewai and we are very fortunate to have him again. We have been training for a few weeks now despite the continuous rainy weather. We are hopeful and optimistic that things will work out as planned.

“Since this will be our debut, I would like to request the people of Dreketi to come out in numbers and support us at Ratu Cakobau Park.”

Valeusa said 10 players are currently training at the Bethel Primary School ground in Namara, Labasa.

“That also includes Ashneel Raju while the rest of the players will join us in Suva.”

Coach Leewai has confirmed that they would be leaving for Suva early tomorrow morning to be in time for Friday’s opening clash.
