Vice Chancellor, Professor Nigel Healey,  says the Fiji National University has reached  a new milestone.

This, after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between FNU and the Waikato Institute of Technology (Wintec).

Mr Healey said: “By reaching out to partner institutions in the region, we can work together to achieve things we couldn’t achieve.”

He said FNU played a crucial role in up-skilling its people and supporting the development of the region.

“The contribution and relationship of Wintec with the Pacific is very important to us,” said Waikato Institute of Technology (Wintec) representative, Greg Smith.

Mr Smith, who is a former Fijian national rugby captain, said he was privileged to be back in Fiji and attend the signing ceremony yesterday.

He said he looked forward to a greater relationship with FNU in the future.

The signing was held in conjunction with the first World TVET Conference 2016 in the Pacific at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.
