Kadavu Proud Of Nakarawa

The gold Olympian said he was not expecting to be at QEB but everything was part of God’s plan
Despite rugby critics, Leone Nakawa banks on his people to support him.
After the Fiji team won the sevens rugby gold at the Rio Olympic Games, the Mokoisa, Tavuki, Kadavu native received his Officer of the Order of Fiji honour yesterday at the State House in Suva.
And was later hosted to a small thanksgiving function by members the Kadavu community in the Republic Of Fiji Military Forces at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks yesterday.
Nakarawa said he was not expecting to be at QEB but everything was part of God’s plan.
“Thank you for organising this for me,”Nakarawa said.
“I want to thank God for his plans and also I want to thank all the chiefs of all the districts of Kadavu for their support.
“I’ve been through a lot in life, all the struggles that my family went through and today is a historical occasion. But my dad Leone Nakarawa Senior has taught us to be humble and just thank God for everything.”
The robust forward thanked his people of Kadavu for their support and also the RFMF for instilling discipline in him.
“I know there are a lot of critics out there but Kadavu will always be there for me, supporting me,”Nakarawa said.
“I also want to thank the RFMF for instilling discipline in me.”
Speaking on behalf of the Kadavu community was retired WO1 Aloesi Kaleca.
“Your achievement has made all the Kadavu people proud,”he said
“Thank you for everything you have done for Fiji and for your province and we wish you the best.”
