The Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Rosy Akbar urged fans to come out in numbers to the INKK Mobile Battle of the Giants (B.O.G) at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori.

Akbar was the chief guest at the opening round and reiterated fans make the tournament tick.

“I urge the fans to come out in numbers not only to enjoy the tournament festivities but to also support your teams,” Akbar said.

“The BOG tournament brings all Fijians together as supported by the Fiji Football theme ‘Equality and Unity through football to build a better Fiji.’

“The B.O.G had a humble beginning but it has grown and has a rich history. The inaugural event was more than just a fundraising tournament and now we are into celebrating its 38 years of existence.

“Organising such a tremendous event can only be made possible through the commitment and dedication of individuals and stakeholders and for that I’d once again like the thank Fiji Football and the sponsors INKK Mobile for their dedication in developing soccer in Fiji.”

The B.O.G pool play finishes tomorrow.
