Lautoka businessman, Mohammed Tazim, says he is proud of his sister.

His sister, Obaida Hussain, graduated with a Masters in Education at the University of the South Pacific yesterday.

“This is the highest ever qualification in our generation of families,” Mr Tazim said.

Mr Tazim travelled all the way from Lautoka with his family to support Mrs Hussain.

She said they were bought up by a single parent mother, and they had to sacrifice and go through a lot of struggle.

Mrs Hussain, who teaches at Noco Secondary School, was overjoyed.

She relieved the sacrifices and challenges they went through.

It was worth it in the end, she added.

“My family has been very supportive and that’s why I’m here today,” she said.

Husband Kizwan Hussain said it was just an amazing feeling and a great moment for him.

Mrs Hussain, a mother of two, said she wished to further her studies in the future.
