Two goals by Zibraaz Sahib ensured Singh’s Rental Lautoka gained maximum points as they beat Nadroga 2-1 to top Group B with nine points.

What Happened: The Aginesh Prasad coached-Lautoka side put on an impressive performance against the struggling Stallions. Lautoka displayed excellent football and gave Nadroga no chance to settle down.

They combined well upfront and dominated possession enabling them the win.

In the 58th and 78th minutes Sahib scored after being cleverly set-up by experienced Ilaitia Tuilau, Valerio Nawatu and Josevata Dugucagi.

Nadroga’s Abdul Mosheem scored a consolation goal in the 84th minute as they bowed out of the tournament. Lautoka also rested their veteran skipper Peni Finau as they have already claimed their semi-final berth.

Half time: Lautoka 0 Nadroga 0

Star Turn: Sahib continues his superb form as a striker scoring crucial goals for Lautoka.

Comments: Lautoka coach Prasad: “They did well and we are looking forward to the semi-final. Our aim is to win the tournament and we have mapped out our plans well. Lautoka last won the tournament in 1985 and we are hungry for the win. It’s long overdue and we will be a stronger side in the semi-final.”

Nadroga interim administrator Tiko Matawalu: “We didn’t play well as expected and we are going to improve on this before the Vodafone Premier League and the Courts Inter-District Championship.”
