Boxing Promotion Set For September

A professional boxing programme is set towards the end of next month. This was confirmed by Boxing Commission of Fiji acting president Usman Ali indicating the promoter is now working towards the promotion.

“It’s somewhere in September but we will confirm the date soon,” he said.

The promotion is to be staged at Prince Charles Park, Nadi with a number of Suva boxers who have signed up.

It is understood that upcoming welterweight boxer Sebastian Singh is going to fight in the main bout with his overseas opponent yet to be finalised.

Singh has an impressive professional record of six wins and two losses. His losses have been on split point decisions in Australia. On the local front he has recorded knockout wins over Anwar Ali, Etuate Kofi and Waisele Ratu.

Also a supporting bout featuring Fiji featherweight champion Krishna Mudaliar who is expected to take on hard hitting Saimoni Ratu in a return fight. Ratu had stopped Mudaliar in their first encounter but the Nadi fighter is determined to avenge that loss.
