Delai Honoured To Be Part Of ‘Moana’

Lepani Delai said he felt such honour when he first heard he was going to be part of production for the Disney animation movie ‘Moana’.

The 26-year-old from Tailevu, who sings bass for Pasifika Voices, said that this would be a great opportunity for him to be part of something big like making a Hollywood movie.

“I have been with Pasifika Voices for three years and the journey was always great,” Mr Delai said.

“Sacrifices was always part of every journey, but with sacrifices come great achievement.”

Pasifika Voices choir director, Igelese Ete called Mr Delai a Basso Profundo which he says “is of a profound bass with great low notes, and rich warm timbre who brings a lot of presence to Pasifika Voices sound and performances.”

According to Mr Ete, Mr Delai is also a fantastic meke dancer, which adds to Pasifika Voices’ Fijian cultural roots and identity. He said Mr Delai he was very committed to Pasifika Voices and added his own personal flavour to the personality and culture of the Pasifika Voices family.

Disney’s production of ‘Moana’ which will officially feature the Pasifika Voices choir in its soundtrack, will premiere on November 23.
