He leaves after three years but notices youths declining scholarships after being selected
The Director for Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR), Kishan Lal Kanojia yesterday said students who were offered scholarships needed to take up the offer and utilise it.
“My only request to youths and parents is to make use of the scholarships that are being awarded to study abroad,” Mr Kanojia said.
He said in his three years, he noticed youths declining the Indian scholarship after being selected and as such hindering the chance of others who were in dire need of the scholarships.
He added the he enjoyed his time in Fiji and commended the peaceful way of life for the Pacific island nation.
“I am grateful for the three years I have served here, this is a very peaceful country,” Mr Kanojia said.
“It’s always great watching people smile regardless of how hard the day is.”
Mr Kanojia was happy that he got to explore Fiji and visit many places including Taveuni, Savusavu and having provided his best services to the people.
“I will remember all what I experienced in Fiji and never forget them,” he said.
“I am glad I was able to tour other Pacific Islands like Nauru, Tonga, and Kiribati and made a lot of friends there and in Fiji as well.”
