Youths Prepare For First Overseas Tour

Team Fiji men’s rugby sevens halfback Seremaia Tuwai has been an inspiration to the youths of Newtown in Nasinu who are now preparing for their first overseas tour.
The Newtown Rugby sevens team are getting their rugby gears ready for their Australian tour where they will play in the Noosa 7s in Queensland and Mudgee 7s in New South Wales. Newtown will travel with two teams- one will be travelling to Queensland and other to NSW.
Newtown coach Asaeli Masilaca said yesterday Tuwai has set a good example to the players who have now involved most of their time in rugby.
The tour party consists of 56 members (players and officials) and one person is to raise $1800.
“These players do their own fundraising and as a team we do BBQ and our soli together to help us with the trip. At this stage most of our logistic preparations have been done in terms of visa applications and we are looking forward to go.”
The team is expected to leave for Australia on September 25. The Noosa 7s festival will be from October 8-9 while the Mudgee 7s will be held on October 8.
