Former Military Officer Father Figure: Brother

The late Lieutenant-Colonel, Filipe Petero Alifereti was a father figure to his two siblings.
Brother, Penisio Alifereti from United States of America made the comment.
The funeral service was held at the Baker Hall in Davuilevu, Nausori.
The late Lt-Col Alifereti, who hailed from Noatau in Rotuma, was the executive chairman for Agricultural Marketing Authority (AMA).
Among his many positions, he was the Permanent Secretary for Provincial Development and National Disaster Management.
He was also deputy secretary at the Prime Ministers office.
The funeral was attended by many heads of state including the President of Fiji, Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konrote and Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama and Police Commissioner, Police Commissioner, Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho.
He was accorded a full military funeral.
Daughter, Vanesa Alifereti who delivered the eulogy on behalf the family said: “He was a man the family would look up to and his memory and legacy would live forever.”
He was buried at the Republic of Fiji Military Forces burial grounds in Nasinu.
