The Deputy Secretary of iTaukei Affairs Board (TAB),  Apakuki Kurusiga, says he is ready to go to Parliament if he is officially confirmed.

He is the only person left on the FijiFirst Party list to replace Timoci Natuva who has resigned as Minister for Immigration, National Security and Defence and from Parliament.

The Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem, confirmed the next FjiiFirst candidate was Mr Kurusiga.

However, he said the Electoral Commission would be contacting Mr Kurusiga.

The commission’s chairman,  Chen Bunn Young, said he had just arrived into the country and was busy meeting his clients.

Mr Kurisiga said yesterday: “I’m ready.”

He said he had not received a letter from the commission.

Mr Kurisiga, a colonel, said he had a discussion with the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF), Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto and he had given his support for him to be a member of Parliament.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama could offer him either iTaukei Affairs or Mr Natuva’s ministry.

He has experience in both ministries. He is one of Mr Bainimarama’s  most trusted and loyal colleagues.

Mr Kurisiga said he was ready to serve all Fijians as a parliamentarian.
