Army will play Raiwaqa in the RC Manubhai Escott Shield Premier Grade final while CBS Power Solutions Koroturaga Grade final sees Wardens playing Regent Electric Breakthrough

In an action packed semifinals of the prestigious Escott Shield competition at the Buckhurst Park yesterday, Raiwaqa and Army fought back to win.

Raiwaqa defeated Queen Victoria School Old Boys (QVSOB) 20-12 while Army won the forces battle edging Police 31-30.

Raiwaqa’s strong performance in the second half saw them overcame QVSOB. QVSOB surrendered its 12-10 lead to Raiwaqa with 15 minutes remaining.

In the second semifinal, Army first five eighth Jolame Davui kicked the winning penalty for the side. Police scored a try few minutes from fulltime to take the lead for the first time 30-28 before Davui sealed the win.

Newcomers to the competition Wardens and Regent Electric Breakthrough gallantly defeated their opponents to play their inaugural final.

Wardens defeated Ports 16-5.  Former national reps like Jioji Ragamate and Sailosi Naiteqe Jnr featured for Wardens.
