The defending OFC Under-20 Championship champions suffered a setback in their defence campaign in Port Vila, Vanuatu yesterday.
The Vodafone Fijian U20 side went down to Vanuatu 1-0 in an upset loss. The Fijians who were favourites to win missed a number of sitters through striker Leroy Jennings as they searched for the equaliser in the dying stages of game.
The host went ahead in the 61st minute through a Godine Tenene goal as fans in the jam packed stadium went crazy.
Fijian goalkeeper Jovilisi Borisi worked overtime in keeping the Vanuatu strikers at bay and had to be treated by the medics from injuries he sustained.
