BLK Nadroga captain Rupeni Nasiga dedicated their 31-15 victory over BLK Naitasiri in the HFC Bank Farebrother Challenge to all the Fijian fathers in the country and abroad. What happened:

BLK Nadroga captain Rupeni Nasiga dedicated their 31-15 victory over BLK Naitasiri in the HFC Bank Farebrother Challenge to all the Fijian fathers in the country and abroad.

What happened: The Stallions ran in four tries to one in an epic clash.

Naitasiri’s fullback Etonia Rokotuisau drew first blood with a penalty in the 2nd minute

In the 25th minute Naitasiri centre Epi Cokanasiga was sin binned by referee Lote Saudranu.

Nadroga’s Iliesa Leca scored the first try which was converted by Apisalome Waqatabu to lead 7-3.

In the 30th minute livewire number eight Eremasi Radrodro scored the second try which was again converted by Waqatabu.

After missing two kickable penalties Rokotuisau finally found the mark to close the gap 14-6.

In the 43rd minute flanker Sakiusa Nadruku was sin-binned.      

Two minutes later Nadroga forwards were penalised in the scrum and a penalty try was awarded which converted by Rokotuisawa.

Halftime: Nadroga 14- 13 Naitasiri.

The Stallions worked tirelessly and was rewarded with Waqatabu kicking a penalty  to extend their lead 17-13.

First-five eighth Alivereti Veitokani maintained his form scoring the third try which was converted by Waqatabu.

In the 79th minute Jone Navori came off the bench to score under the posts and was converted by Waqatabu.

Big Play: Waqatabu played man-of-the match performance scoring 12 points.

Star Turn: Veitokani and Sakiusa Gavidi combined well.

Comments: Nadroga captain Rupeni Nasiga;

“It was tough 80 minutes and we were put to the test a couple of times but we survived for another week.”

This win is for all fathers in Fiji and abroad.” 

Naitasiri captain Isireli Kaloucava; “Nadroga played well, we can’t keep the momentum in the second half.

But we gave in our best, the boys played well and I thank the Naitasiri supporters for being always there for our us.”
