Yat Sen 80/30 Anniversary Celebration

Yat Sen School held a banquet dinner at its school in Flagstaff, Suva, last night to mark the ending of its week-long 80/30 anniversary celebrations.
The anniversary celebration commemorated 80 years since the establishment of its primary school and 30 years of its secondary school.
Students, parents, teachers and former students were part of the celebrations culminating its years of existence and achievements with the theme: “Celebrating Our Past, Embracing Our Future, Fanning Educational Excellence”.
President Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konrote, who is also a former parent of the school, attended the banquet dinner as chief guest with his wife Sarote. Mr Konrote’s two sons had attended Yat Sen Secondary School and were now working in the aviation industry. He congratulated the school for its achievements over the years in harnessing students who have contributed to Fiji’s socio-economic development.
Mr Konrote said the event was a great time to meet old friends and former parents of the school.
Among those attending the event were Chinese Ambassador to Fiji Zhang Ping and pioneers of the Chinese community in Fiji
