Australian siblings Holly and Sam Williams made a clean sweep at the Powerade Junior Pro  Surf in Sigatoka yesterday.

The duo excelled in their respective heats and dominated the Under-18 and U16 categories respectively.

Strong competition was provided by the Vanuatu surfers and the locals participants like Jimmy Tomeru, Filo Na from Kulukulu, 13-yr old Kesha Wakeham and  Linieta Bokadi.

National head coach Ian Portingale was impressed with the local surfers.

“It was indeed great to see the local surfers making the finals battling the 3 – 5 feet high waves.”

Meanwhile, Wakeham and Sigatoka based John Vasea will take part in the two- day programme at the Oceania Performance Centre in Australia. This was possible through sponsors FIT College/Pivot Point Academy.

The Powerade Junior Pro was sponsored by Fijian National Sports Commission, Fiji Surfing Association, FIT College and OPC.

 

U18 boys: 1 Sam Williams (Aus), 2 Jesso Kalotiti (Vanuatu), 3d Jimmy Tomeru (Fiji), 4 Pulpiate Martin.

U18 girls: 1Holly Williams (Aus), 2 Serah Jona (Vanuatu), Filo N (Fiji).

U16 boys: 1Sam Williams (Aus), 2 Rodger Telio (Vanuatu), 3 Chris Martin (Samoa), 4  Pulpiate Martin (Samoa).

U16 girls:1 Holly Williams (Aus), 2 Kea Smith (NZ), 3 Kesha Wakeham (Fiji), 4 Linieta Bokadi (Fiji).
