The Vodafone Under-18 Women’s League battle continued in Vanua Levu. At the Labasa Muslim College ground, Labasa proved too strong for Savusavu with a 6-1 win.

Labasa U18 women’s coach Ranjan Sharma said he had prepared his players well and they did stuck to the game plan that worked on during training.

Both teams were gunning for a win as Savusavu equalised late in the first half to hold Labasa 1-1 during the interval.

“Only minutes into the second half Sereima Ligikola put Labasa ahead 2-1 after dribbling her way past the defenders. Then it was Selai Nai scoring from the spot kick to make it 3-1. It was all ours from there on.”

Labasa’s other three goals came from Seniduadua Cirimaiwasa, Adi Maikali while birthday girl Arishna Devi scored the final goal.

“The soccer standard amongst the girls has improved a lot after the investment made by Fiji Football Association and Vodafone Fiji. “Their investment is highly appreciated and I must also thank Fiji FA northern development officer Iosefo Vosoboto for his guidance in promoting and developing football amongst youngsters.”
