Fijian Basketball Rep Turns Pro

Fijian Basketball player Joshua Fox is relishing his dream by making it to the Cheshire Phoenix, a professional basketball club in the British Basketball League (BBL).
Cheshire Phoenix announced the signing of Fox on their website yesterday.
Fox is a 6’6 forward who was raised in the United States however was born in Fiji and is part of the Fijian national team. He featured for the Fijian national team at the 2015 Pacific Games in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
He is Cheshire’s final signing before the start of the new season of the BBL.
Cheshire coach O’Reilly spoke highly of Fox following his signing.
“In Josh we have signed a real hard nosed competitor which we feel fits in with the identity we are trying to build from day one of pre-season,” Reilly said.
“Josh brings great versatility to our line-up where we can use him in numerous positions on both ends of the floor”.
Reilly said Fox has a skill set that fits well with the League and would be a player that fans take to immediately on and off the court.
Fiji Amateur Basketball Federation chief operating officer Laisiasa Puamau said they are so proud of Fox’s success.
“Joshua is a role model to aspiring Fijian basketball players who wants to make it into the professional game.
“We wish him all the best and hope he will continue to help the development of basketball in Fiji,”
The 22-year-old Fox will make his home debut in a pre-season friendly on September 18 against USA team Ballers Beyond Heaven.
