FRU ON TRACK

Works are underway at Rugby House with the aim to lift the sport to greater heights.
The Fiji Rugby Union board of directors along with chief executive officer John O’Connor have been working tirelessly in implementing policies to make it an efficient and profitable institution.
These changes are in compliant with all requirements from World Rugby where there is accountability and transparency.
FRU board chairman Francis Kean told SUNsports that they have also implemented Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on staff members and coaches as well.
This is a measure for them to ensure that the tasks carried out are achieving Fiji Rugby’s key objectives in terms of administration development and the business aspect of the sport as well.
“It’s all about producing results,” Kean said.
“If they are not producing the results then we have to look elsewhere.”
Kean said this is the first time that such policies are being implemented at Rugby House.
He acknowledged the initiative of the current board of directors in their endeavour to steer Fiji Rugby forward.
“We are not there as yet but we are still working on it but all I can say is that good times are ahead for Fiji Rugby,” he added.
ESCOTT SHIELD FINAL

Rugby is not normally expected to be played on the new ground .
The annual Escott Shield final is tipped to be an exception.
