Sydney-based trainer Lepani Wilson has called on the country’s boxing fraternity to back super lightweight boxer Sebastian ‘Sniper’ Singh.

“The boy is good and he should be country’s next draw card and groomed well he could be hitting big time in the sport,” he said yesterday.

Wilson said Singh is a classy boxer, very skilful and has good ringcraft which sets him apart from any local boxer.

He is trained by his father veteran trainer Gyan Singh of the Uptown Boxing Club in Toorak, Suva.

Singh faces his first big test against Alex Ah Tong for the vacant World Boxing Foundation’s Asia Pacific lightweight title at Prince Charles Park, Nadi on October 1.

“I call on boxing fans to support Sebastian in this most important fight and a win will pave his way forward.

“He is a local boy and we should support him all the way.”
