HFC Bank yesterday announced the increased rate of 2.43 per cent with its Viti Drua Premium Account to commemorate the world’s greatest sevens rugby team, Fiji 7s that won Gold at the Rio Olympics.

HFC Bank chief executive officer, Ross Munn said the bank was looking forward to more customers signing up for the newly introduced premium savings account.

“We are excited to launch this premium savings account and we are positive that more Fijians will make use of this,” Munn said.

He also highlighted the interest rate provided was very competitive and urged customers to make use of the great opportunity available to them.

“In the savings account market in Fiji, anything around 2 per cent is certainly high and 2.43 percent is very high in the market,” he said.

“We pay interest on daily balance and 2.43 percent is the interest rate we are offering.

“We encourage existing clients to transfer their savings accounts to this new premium accounts.”

Mr Munn added the 43 marked Fiji’s score against Great Britain in the final of the Rio Olympics.

He said the product was also excellent for remittances received from relatives and friends from abroad.

“HFC Bank has launched an Inward Telegraphic Transfer Promotion that will run from September 8 to December 16 this year.

“This will see customers receiving overseas remittances into Viti drua Premium accounts going into a draw to win F$2,000 in cash.”

Also the bank had extended its service hours on Saturdays and now will be open from 9am-1pm at Downtown Boulevard, Nakasi, Namaka-Nadi, Lautoka and Labasa.
