Elders Proud Of Graduating Family Members

Sarag Wati, 75 could not hold back her happiness as she witnessed her granddaughter graduate from the University of the South Pacific.
At 26, Ashna Sharma and her husband Anish yesterday achieved a milestone as they graduated together in Postgraduate Certificate of Business Administration.
Ms Wati who arrived from Suva with her family to the graduation ceremony at Girmit Centre in Lautoka said it was a moment to cherish for the rest of her life.
“I am witnessing my granddaughter achieve success. And that’s all we the elders of the home want to see in our young generation,” Ms Wati said.
Meanwhile, the mother of another graduate only wished her husband was alive to witness how their son had excelled in his life.
It was a mixture of sadness and joy for Meresoana Prasad who also arrived from Suva to watch her son, Thomas Prasad graduate in Master of Business Administration.
“My husband passed away in 1994 when my son was still in school and today Thomas is 42 and has a family of his own. I am proud of him,” Ms Prasad said.
Mr Prasad said he was eager to further his education and this achievement took him to another level.
