Lautoka Celebrate B.O.G Win Today

The city of Lautoka will come to a standstill today as they celebrate their football team’s victory at the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament.

The Peni Finau- captained side beat Labasa 2-0 in the final last Sunday to break the 31-year-old jinx.

Lautoka football Association president Abdul Kadir has called on their fans to come out in blue colours and honour their heroes.

“We have discussed the celebration plan in our executive meeting and it will be big as we want our fans to enjoy the occasion,” Kadir said.

“Fans can meet up with the players and take photos and autographs as well.”

He said the plan is for the march to start from Shelly Park, through the city and then to ground two of Churchill Park.

Kadir said there would be a gala dinner for the Singh’s Rental sponsored side where each player is going to receive their share of the $15,000 prize money.

“Other business houses who are part of the celebration will also be handing out their gifts.”

He added that there was a lot of preparation that were needed to be done before the tournament and they did their part and the players have rewarded them with the win.
