Complaints Against LTA Continue, Says Minister

Land Transport Authority continues to receive public complaints about its services, says Parveen Kumar.
The Minister for Local Government, Housing and Environment, Infrastructure and Transport, said yesterday the review committee chaired by Mohammed Saneem had handed the authority’s report to the ministry.
He said the committee was set up to review the authority’s services after a nationwide consultation by the Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
“A lot of issues raised during the consultation led to the committee being set up to go through the grievances that were raised by the general public.
“I am happy that I have received the report, way forward now is handing the report to the Solicitor-General report for vetting, than we will implement matters raised in the report,” Mr Kumar said.
Mr Kumar said that he had made it clear that they would need to see the services to the general public were met.
“The report is based on the general service delivered to the public and issues were not only in LTA offices in Suva but around the country. We receive complaints from the general public about LTA. The issues will be addressed after the report is reviewed.”
