The Fiji Bus Operators Association returned its senior executives unopposed to the leadership of the association following the annual general meeting at Novotel in Lami yesterday.

The positions of General Secretary (Rohit Latchan of Estol Holdings), Treasurer (Nisar Ali Shah of KBL Buses), and their assistants were all returned unopposed.

Jasper Singh of Shore Buses Limited and Ritesh Nair of Nair’s Transport Limited were newly elected into the executive council.

They were also elected unopposed.

Parmod Chand remains President for the second year of his two-year term as per the FBOA’s Constitution.

Richard Lal is the senior Vice President and Pyara Singh the second Vice President.

The election followed a day-long Convention that included stakeholders from the Ministry of Transport, Land Transport Authority, Fiji Police Force, Fiji Roads Authority and agencies.

Minister for Transport, Parveen Kumar was chief guest.

He addressed some of the concerns raised by bus operators, including electronic ticketing.
