Fiji Airways Bowling Event Heats Up

Defending champions Wella Fiji women’s team are in for a tough time today in the quarterfinals of the Fiji Airways Open Four Bowling Event at the Nadi Sports and Social Club.

The star studded side of Sai Walker, Elizabeth Moceiwai, Losalini and Loretta Kotoisuva take on the Fiji men’s team of Arun Kumar, Semesa Naiseruvati, Rajnesh Prasad and Kushal Pillay.

The women’s team suffered a 14-10 loss at the hands of Team Fiji Airways Airbus, which comprised of Dan Vinod, Bobby Prasad, David Aitcheson and Sitiveni Tikoisuva during the first round.

They bounced back to record two wins in their respective pool games; 20-7 against Fiji Airways Boeing and 19-12 over Lautoka Masters.

The Fiji men’s team won their two matches against Lautoka Babaas 18-9, and 14-12 over Geo Tech which was forced to an extra end.

Tournament coordinator Tikoisuva said the event would be exciting taking into consideration the depth of the players.

“The quarterfinals will be an interesting competition as the pool games ended on a high note.

“The competition level has gone up and that shows the development in each player and brings the best of the bowlers to the green.”

Other quarterfinals-  Samuela Tui’s Botswana take on Santok Singh’s William and Goslings, Nadi Combat take on Suva Surua while Fiji Airways Airbus meet Geo Tech.

The quarterfinals start at 9.30am with the finals in the afternoon.
