Usamate Looking Forward To New Challenges

The Minister for Health and Medical Services Jone Usamate is ready to take up the Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations portfolio.
In an interview during his visit to Labasa yesterday, Mr Usamate said he was looking forward to this new challenge.
“As a minister and politician we are to stand ready to do what the Prime Minister calls for,” Mr Usamate said.
“The Prime Minister has the final say on which minister does what.
“At the end of the day all our focus is to serve the people of Fiji to the best of our ability,” Mr Usamate said.
“I wish the incoming Minister for Health and Medical Services Rosy Akbar all the best as this ministry would be challenging also.
“There is a five year strategy plan in place which focuses a lot on prevention for public health.
“There are lot of things needed to be done to stop people from getting sick, looking at our health centres and hospital,” he said.
“Today is my last event in Labasa as the Minister for Health and Medical Services,” he said during the World Suicide Prevention Day at Subrail Park in Labasa.
“It has been an honour serving and looking after the people in this ministry.”
The current Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations Semi Koroilavesau will be the Minister for Fisheries.
