A 40-year-old man of Tacirua in Suva is currently in a stable condition at the Lautoka hospital, Police said.

This is after the vehicle he was travelling in veered off the road and hit a lamp post, last Saturday at the Queens Road near Nasoso in Nadi.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the incident happened at 9am.

“The vehicle was returning from Lautoka with three passengers when he allegedly lost control resulting in the vehicle veering off the road and hitting a lamp post,” she said.

Ms Naisoro said the passengers were taken to the Nadi Hospital.

“One of them, a 40-year-old of Tacirua, Suva was transferred to the Lautoka Hospital and is in stable condition.`

She said the other passengers and the driver were treated and sent home.

“The driver will be questioned soon as investigations continue.”

Meanwhile, Police are advising all motorists to be vigilant on the road and take precautionary measures to avoid accidents which can claim lives.
