Ravouvou Backs NRC Proposal

Playing in Australia’s National Rugby Championship is going to boost Fijian Rugby, says one of our Olympic Games gold medallist.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, Fijian 7s playmaker Vatemo Ravouvou said it is a positive idea.
“It would be a great idea because most guys can only play in Fiji,” he said.
“It would be good for Fiji Rugby for them to play in a competition like this.”
Ravouvou expects he’ll catch up with a short-lived sevens teammate while in the region Jarryd Hayne.
“He is a very good man, Jarryd. He worked hard. We all did. It was good fun. We are all brothers now,” he added.
Ravouvou made his debut for the Western Sydney Ram in the National Rugby Championship against Perth Spirit last Saturday. Perth Spirit defeated the Rams 30-24 at Concord Oval.
After a delayed visa approval, Ravouvou arrived earlier last week. He is then set to link up with Flying Fijian’s Test tour of Europe in November.
Born in Westmead, Ravouvou moved to Fiji as a one-year-old but still has family in Guildford.
