It was a proud moment for Miss Nausori Town Council Sharlin Singh when she was crowned Miss Vodafone Tebara Carnival on Saturday night. She was crowned by incoming Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa.

The 20-year-old also won the Miss Charity crown, Best Traditional Inspire award and  the award for the best float.

“It is an overwhelming feeling because I did not expect to win the contest,” Ms Singh said.

“I feel blessed and special because there were so many people who supported me.”

Miss Singh thanked her parents and her sponsors the Nausori Town Council.

“I am part of a charitable group and believe in helping people.

“I wanted to voice my opinion and use this platform to advocate on what I believe in.

“I had a great time at the Vodafone Tebara Carnival and it was a learning experience for me,” she said.

She said she loves animals and exploring new places as part of her hobbies.

She will represent Nausori at the Miss Fiji Pageant.
