Service Delivery A Priority: Akbar

Service delivery will be her first priority, says incoming Minister for Health and Medical Services, Rosy Akbar.
The outgoing Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, said she was looking forward to her new role.
She said it would not be easy for her to leave the ministry where she had worked for the past 2 years, but she looks forward to her new role.
“I am happy about my new role as the Minister for Health and Medical Services, but I will surely miss my ministry and the people I have worked with,” Ms Akbar said.
“The new ministry is challenging but my experiences have prepared me well for my new portfolio.”
She added that she wanted to focus on the service delivery of all people in Fiji.
“Taking over the Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, I have learned a lot and now I will use my past experiences to work towards tackling the challenges in the Ministry of Health and Medical Services,” Ms Akbar said.
“I am not surprised with the cabinet reshuffle because we, as the Fiji First Party, believe in working as a team and when the Prime Minister decided to reshuffle the portfolios, I took it up as a challenge.”
She believes this new portfolio will be an expansion of her work which she already did in the Ministry of Women.
“The core value of my service was always about service delivery and I intend to see how I work with my team in the Ministry of Health to improve the service delivery for all Fijians,” Ms Akbar said.
