Vuniwaqa Ready For New Challenges

Incoming Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa is looking forward to the challenges her new portfolio will bring.
The outgoing Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources said yesterday that she was ready to take up the challenges, come September 17.
“The Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation is well looked after by Government and it is what all of us are passionate about,” Ms Vuniwaqa said.
“I hope I will be able to fill in the big shoes that honourable Rosy Akbar will be leaving behind.
“It is a new set of challenges, something different than what I had been into” Mrs Vuniwaqa said.
She acknowledged the work of Ms Akbar and will meet with her to prepare for her new role.
“I am pleased to say that Ms Akbar has done a marvelous work in the ministry and I just hope that the new challenges I face, I will be ready to tackle it and work towards the safety and security of all,” Mrs Vuniwaqa said.
