FRA: MWH Global Contract Expires This December

Fiji Roads Authority chief executive, John Hutchinson, has emphasised that MWH Global’s contract with FRA expires on December 31 this year.
The statement comes amidst rumours of fallout between the two parties over contractual and commercial issues.
MWH Global in New Zealand was awarded a five year contract by the Government in January 2012 as Professional Engineering Services Advisors.
Mr Hutchinson said FRA does not discuss contractual or commercial matters with anyone other than the affected parties.
“FRA has a responsibility to the people and Government of Fiji to ensure services sought and supplied by any consultant or contractor are rendered efficiently, effectively, in accordance with the law and provide value for money,” he said.
MWH Global’s role
The contract awarded to MWH Global was to assist our Government in establishing FRA and to build and maintain Fiji’s 10,000 kilometres of roads, 1000 bridges and 44 jetties.
The role of MWH also included the institutional change needed to create the FRA.
